Vermont Public School Enrollment by Town and Year

The table below provides student enrollment figures for every town from 2000 through 2006. The enrollment measure used is the Average Daily Membership (ADM). This information was compiled from reports found on the Vermont Department of Education's Web site.

Observations:

Total statewide enrollment has dropped by approximately 8.1% from a high of 103,072 in 2000 to a low of 94,751 in 2006.
Approximately 20% of all towns have experienced an increased enrollment over that same time period
Approximately 69% of all towns have experienced 2 or more years of enrollment increases (out of a possible 6)
Approximately 37% of all towns have experienced 3 or more years of enrollment increases (out of a possible 6)
Only 10.7% have experienced no year-over-year enrollment increase
